The NGO sector responds to the dialogue between the authorities and the opposition. Third sector representatives talk about the necessity of consensus and say that transition to the proportional system is important.

Eka Gigauri, executive director of the Transparency International - Georgia, speaks about the necessity of transition to the proportional system and states that democracy is facing challenges.

Executive Director of the International Society for Fair Elections and Democracy, Mikheil Benidze, speaks about the importance of broad consensus.

"If we want to achieve some kind of consensus, then we think that this consensus is simply not possible without talking about the electoral system," Benidze said.

Lasha Tugushi, director of the Liberal Academy Foundation, notes that the new Constitution should not be accepted based on the positions of one party only.

"The responsibility of the authorities is what is not only today, but what will be tomorrow," said Lasha Tugushi.
