The President has nominated October 21 as the date of the local self-government elections.

The date of the election imposes specific regulations for the parties. The ruling team will be under monitoring regarding the use of the state and administrative resources.

The National Movement party says that parties have to compete in unequal conditions. European Georgia also accuses government of using budgetary sources and bribing voters.

It became known that some of the parties could not take part in the elections due to lack of funds, including Free Democrats.
