Tomorrow`s elections - country will have 64 elected mayors

Tomorrow is the election day . On October 21, Georgian citizens will elect local self-government bodies. A total of 3634 polling stations will be opened in 73 polling presincts across the country, including 10 special precincts in penitentiary establishments.

3 million 440 123 123 voters are registered in the elections of 21 October 2017, . 22 political parties , 5 election blocs and 1 initiative group are participating in the elections. Georgian citizens will elect 64 councils, 2058 members. In Tbilisi and regions, the country will have 64 elected mayors.

Tbilisi, Kutaisi, Poti, Rustavi and Batumi participate in the elections as self-governing cities. There are 13 candidates in total for the position of the mayor in Tbilisi. To obtain this post, the candidate must overcome the barrier of 50 percent.

If none of the nominees will be able to collect the required number of votes, in this case the second round will be announced.
