Strengthening of State Security Services - decision of government criticized

Merger of the Foreign Intelligence and State Security Services has raised political and professional questions. By the decision of the Prime Minister, these two agencies must be united.

Dimitri Shashkini, the founder of the "Club of Reformers" explains that the merger of these two agencies is contrary to the balance of power and distribution system.

The opposition is strongly against the strengthening of the State Security Services and giving foreign intelligence functions to it.

The decision of the government is unclear for the specialists. Experts focus on the western model and say that these branches of the government should be separated.

Structural changes will be discussed tomorrow at the government session
