Batumi City Council chooses new chairperson

 

Batumi City Council has chosen a new chairperson. Nine members of the council elected Suliko Tebidze on the post of chairperson. Members of the "National Movement", "Alliance of Patriots" and "European Georgia" did not participate in the voting.

The member of the political council of the United National Movement, Mirdat Kamadadze explained the reasons why the party did not participate in today"s voting.

"The National Movement has not participated in today"s voting because of the simple reason that the majority of the City Council came as a result of the fraudulent elections in Batumi, The whole responsibility lies on the Georgian Dream, "- said Mirdat Kamadadze.

The newly elected chairman of Batumi City Council , Suliko Tebidze, made a statement.

"I am ready to cooperate with any organization, any party, any person. My door will always be open, "said Suliko Tebidze.

Political statements were also heard at Batumi City Council session today.
