The Ministry of Foreign Affairs comments on the acquisition of Javelin-type missile systems and equipment from the United States. Davit Zalkaliani , the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs states that the decision expresses the will of two sovereign states to strengthen strong strategic partnership and defence capabilities.

In addition, he states that it is worth mentioning that the military equipment which will be purchased from the US is not used for offensive purposes.

"This weapon is only for strengthening defence capabilities, and cannot be used for any offensive purposes," says Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs David Zalkaniani.
