The case of Temirlan Machalikashvili has united the whole Pankisi Gorge. Locals have one request to the authorities - an inquiry into the 19-year-old youngster"s case. In Duisi they demand explanation why Machalikashvili was killed by riot police.
19-year-old Temirlan Machalikashvili was buried next to his grandfather at Duisi Cemetery.

His father made first comments after two days of silence today. Malkhaz Machalikashvili addressed the government and demanded a strict penalty against the head of the Special Operations Department and the person, who shot his son.

Officials have not attended the burial. Only the lawyer of the Human Rights Center, representatives of various religious confessions and students expressed their condolences to the family of the deceased.

At the end of the day the Pankisi Solidarity demonstration was held in front of the Government Administration.

Leader of the Labor Party also requested the government to investigate Machalikashvili"s case .

The Prosecutor"s Office launched investigation into Temirlan Machalikashvili"s case on December 26.
