A Deputy Chief Prosecutor of Georgia has visited Kiev to discuss the issue of extradition. The Ukrainian Prosecutor General"s Office has confirmed the information. According to the agency, the meeting aimed at discussing extradition issues.

The meeting was held on January 12, but the information was spread only today. In addition, Saakashvili"s surname is not mentioned in the official statement.

However, Ukrainian media presumes that the issue of negotiations was the extradition of Mikheil Saakashvili to Georgia.

According to lawyer Beka Basilaia, there is no legal basis for Mikheil Saakashvili"s extradition.
