Civil society representatives say that legislation should be improved in this regard to increase women"s role and quotas in parliament and self-governing bodies.

"Taking into consideration that there is demand on women`s participaton in politikcs, it is important that the state take a specific step in this direction. Of course, here I am talking about legislative initiatives, as well as concrete reforms that can result in the fact that more women participate in political processes, "- Eka Gigauri, executive director of Transparency International Georgia said.
