"There were quite concerning signals" - "We are interested in detailsm Nino and not in general text with smoothed corners" - dispute of Gvaramia-Zhizhilashvili

Representatives of non-governmental organizations and private TV channels are gathered at the hotel "Holiday Inn". The sides are discussing the Rustavi 2 case, the Law on Public Broadcasting and the Critical Media Restriction.

The meeting resulted in verbal confrontation. The debate started after TV Pirveli journalist Nino Zhizhilashvili said that the authorities were trying to put pressure on them. General Director of Rustavi 2 requested more specification about this statement and noted that Nino Zhizhilashvili should have named the authorities who were putting pressure on them . According to Nika Gvaramia, he has information that high officials were involved in this pressure.

"I would like to tell you about the little symptoms that we had in TV recently. It was quite an alarming signal. The signals were the following: the government does not have the comfort that there is a small but solid public opinion
maker, impartial independent media space and we feel at some point special signals in this regard, "- Nino Zizhilashvili said. Nika Gvaramia asked her specify what these signals meant and whether ther was pressurefrom concrete people?

"What do these signals mean, from whom these signals were, if there was pressure on the owner. Whether Kumsishvili and Jejelava"s names and texts were related to them? We are interested in these details, Nino, and not the smoothed text, which you just have said. I very much respect your editorial independence and you bravely discuss what Kibar Khalvashi, Akimidze and Dvali wre told about Rustavi two some 20 years ago , but we are more interested in what you were told yesterday, "- Nika Gvaramia said.

Vakho Sanaia, journalist of the TV Pirveli responded to this statement. He asked Nika Gvaramia himself whether he knew something about "TV Pirveli" which contained the signs of crime.

"You tell us who we are to invite to our programs?" - asked Vakho Sanaia.

"Nika, I am sorry do you protect us?" Nino Zhizhilashvili addressed Nika Gvaramia, to which Nika Gvaramia said that it is important for him to protect TV Pirveli from the pressure of the government.
