French ambassador warns citizens of Georgia and speaks about danger of inacting of suspension mechanism

Another warning from the French ambassador to the citizens of Georgia Pascal Meunier calls on the population not to violate the terms of the Schengen zone, as the diplomat said the number of Georgian citizens who violated the visa regime and demanded shelter in the EU has significantly increased. The French diplomat does not exclude that due to the increase in statistics the sanctions will be imposed on Georgia, including the possibility that the EU will raise the issue of the mechanism of suspension.

"France has agreed to grant visa-free regime to Georgia, because we recognized the reforms that Georgia has pursued in different directions, and the number of Georgian citizens demanding shelter in France has also increased, and the violation of the 90-day period also occurs.

"I would like to urge citizens of Georgia not to trust the people who promise them to live in France or Germany for 2 years illegally and then receive asylum, it will not be so because Georgia is a safe country and it is not excluded that sanctions will be imposed on Georgia , "- said Pascal Meunier.
