Rose Revolution Square might be given its old name - Republic Square

The Rose Revolution Square might return its old name - the Republic Square. The initiative will be discussed at the session of the Nomination and Symbols Commission today. The decision of the Sakrebulo is related to the 100th anniversary of the announcement of the first republic, although this initiative was registered by former MP Tedo Kobakhidze last year in the self-governing body.
The opposition evaluates the initiative as a revenge.
The opposition says that this aimed at erasing the traces of the significance of the Rose Revolution in the country and call the initiative "shameful".
