Zaza Saralidze suspends the protest at the MIA and gives the government a one-week deadline


Zaza Saralidze, the father of the teenager killed in Khorava Street, stops rallies in the yard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and gives the government a one-week deadline.

At Zaza Saralidze"s decision the rally planned for today at 7:00 pm is canceled.

This was the result of a two-hour meeting in the Mininstry. Minister of Internal Affairs did not attend the meeting. Zaza Saralidze, his lawyer and the Public Defender met with the Deputy Minister and the head of the General Inspection.

The father of a murdered minor does not speak about details of whether he received quarantees regarding the detention of Mikheil Kalandia, but says that the agency will take specific radical steps before the end of the week.

"We discussed the unity of evidence, we have discussed one thing that the radical steps will be taken by the end of the week," Zaza Saralidze said.

Public Defender Nino Lomjaria says that similar meeting will be held in the main prosecutor"s office in the nearest future, as the prosecutor"s office should take the decision on Kalandia"s detention.
