Third sector demands suspension of the main prosecutor`s selections for several months

Justice Minister Tea Tsulukiani will start discussion on the Chief Prosecutor on July 9. Tea Tsulukiani has to start the selection of three out of the 17 candidates nominated for the post of chief prosecutors in 18 hours.

On July 9 the renewed staff of the government will also be known. Consequently, either Tea Tsulukiani or new minister of justice named Mamuka Bakhtadze will choose the new prosecutor of the country.

NGOs addressed the government today and demanded the suspension of the selection process of the Chief Prosecutor for several months.

Shalva Tadumadze is the favorite ocandidates of the Georgian Dream for the main prosecutor`s post. Apart from Bidzina Ivanishvili"s personal advocate and his parliamentary secretary for years, Tadumadze has a relation with Tea Tsulukiani. The Minister of Justice is the godfather of the child of the candidate for the prosecutor.

The ruling party responded to the third sectorwith categorical refusal.
Presidential administration was direct and categorical. Giorgi Marvelashvili"s parliamentary secretary Ana Natsvlishvili said today that Tea Tsulukiani"s selected chief prosecutor will not have confidence of the public at all.
