Special operation in Greece and Georgian woman detained on charges of trading with children Ambassador of Georgia makes explanations


The Embassy is already informed about the Georgian citizen arrested in Greece for child trading. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Greece and Serbia, Ioseb Nanobashvili says he does not have the right to issue personal information, but confirms that the Georgian citizen is charged with a very serious crime.

"Information is received. I can not give you personal information. The meeting has not taken place because it is the process of law enforcement and they will tell us what will be our involvement. As to the information about this operation, what can be said at this stage, is being posted on the official website of the Greek police, "said Ioseb Nanobashvili.

According to the Greek police, law enforcers have contacted a 40-year-old Georgian woman in a suburb of Athens who assisted the agent of police in buying a newborn baby for 18,000 euro .

All in all 9 persons are detained for child trading. Most of them are Bulgarians.

According to the investigation, the group was involved in the illegal activity for at least 1 year.

Neighbors of a Georgian citizen are not aware of the incident. Only say that 40-year-old woman has been to Greece for 11 years and reported that she was working in a hospital.
