Merkel"s visit to Armenia - she was met by Armenia"s Prime Minister at Yerevan airport

Angela Merkel left for Armenia after her visit to Georgia. Prime Minister of Armenia greeted German Chancellor at Yerevan Airport.

During the first official visit Merkel held bilateral talks with Nicolas Pashignan, and the President of the country. At the concluding press conference, he talked about necessity of peaceful settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Angela Merkel invited her Armenian counterpart in Germany and promised assistance in the visa liberalization process.

After the official meetings, German Chancellor accompanied the Armenian leaders, walked in the streets of Yerevan and took photos with the local population.

Angela Merkel will visit Baku today in the framework of the South Caucasus tour.
