Formal meeting of two formal leaders - President Giorgi Margvelashvili, who was elected due to influence of Bidzina Ivanishvili, met with Salome Zourabichvili, who was also elected thanks to Bidzina Ivanishvili, talked about democratic transition of power. The meeting was held in Avlabari residence.
Giorgi Margvelashvili met Salome Zourabichvili in Avlabari Palace with in compliance with protocol: Red carpet and guards of honor. The current president and president-elect did not talk for a long time . The meeting lasted 18 minutes. The president- elect did not even explore the palace.
After a short meeting, the Presidents parted each other so that they did not make statements for the media. The transition of power now will be carried out by the heads of their administration.It is already known that Salome Zourabichvili will hand this position to Lasha Zhvania. In addition to Lasha Zhvania, Kakha Samkharadze, former governor of Shida Kartli who was a member of Zurabishvili"s staff, may be in the team of the fifth president of Georgia. Bidzina Giorgobiani, former head of the forest department is waiting for the offer from the president.
Salome Zourabichvili besides staffing her administration is working on the inauguration. The ruling team does not rule out that the president`s inauguration will be held not in the capital, but in Kutaisi or Poti, but the final decision is not made yet on the issue.
