Prosecutor"s Office released a statement regarding prisoner Irakli Chkheidze, who says that the prisoner refused to accept a plea bargain.
According to the Prosecutor"s Office, during the consideration of the case in the first instance court , Irakli Chkheidze was offered a plea bargain agreement with 3 years imprisonment and 3 year probation.
The case is now discussed at the Appeal Court. Irakli Chkheidze pays the sentence for illegal purchase and keeping of narcotics and is also accused of stealing. He has been on hunger strike with the request of plea bargain for the 29th day and refuses medical assistance. Yesterday the statement was issued by the penitentiary service, which says that Irakli Chkheidze was transferred to medical institution from eighth institution, but he still refuses to receive medical help.
