Purchase and storage of large quantity of marijuana - Akhmeta resident Mikheil Tsinkverashvili faces from 6 to 12 years of imprisonment

Political Union "Girchhi" protests Mikheil Tsinkverashvili"s detention in Akhmeta.

According to Zurab Japaridze, Tsinkverashvili was arrested by law enforcers for purchasing and storage of marijuana and for using the herb .

Japaridze considers that imprisonment for such offense is unfair.

Japaridze brings legalization of marijuana consumption as an argument.

The trial of Tsinkverashvili was held in Telavi District Court today. According to the prosecution, Tsinkverashvili has preserved a large quantity of drugs and faces from six to 12 years of imprisonment.

According to Judge Mamuka Tsiklauri"s decision, the next hearing will be held on March 27.
