The European Court of Human Rights will discusses today

the issue of compensation for Georgian citizens expelled from Russia in 2006.
It is about the individual complaints of 7 Georgian citizens who were victims of human rights violations during the forced deportation of Georgians.
In the case "Berdzenishvili and others v. Russia", the European Court of Human Rights has revealed a violation of several articles of the European Convention on Human Rights. Including the inhuman and degrading treatment, the violation of the right to effective trial and the ignoring of the collective expulsion of foreignors.
According to the statement posted on the website of the agency, the court continues to consider this case after the decision by the Grand Chamber of the European Court of Human Rights.The Grand Chamber has already ordered Russia to pay 10 million euros for Georgian citizens in January.
