The US accuses Iran of an attack on a tanker in the Gulf of Oman. According to the US Secretary of State, Washington made this conclusion based on information provided by special services.

"The Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Bainbridge (DDG 96) responded to a distress call from the M/V Kokuka Courageous in the Gulf of Oman the morning of June 13," U.S. Central Command said in a tweet accompanying the three still images.

The attacks on two oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman on Thursday drove up oil prices and raised concerns about a new U.S.-Iranian confrontation, but Tehran bluntly denied the allegation.
