Restrictions for tourists - Visitors to Rome are banned from sitting on the famous Spanish stairs and around Travi Fountain. In case of breaking the new law, the fine could be up to 400 euros.

The regulations are intended to “guarantee decorum, security and legality” by prohibiting actions that are “not compatible with the historic and artistic decorum” of Rome’s centre, according to the city’s website.
