Kyrgyz prosecutor charges the former president with organizing a coup

The Prosecutor"s Office of Kyrgyzstan charges Almazbek Atambayev with murder and organizing a coup. The National Security Committee says the former president was planning to overthrow the government.

The statement clarified that the residence was stormed in order to prevent a coup. A special operation was held on August 7 to capture Atambayev. According to official data, one Special Forces officer was killed and 136 people were injured.
