Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton arrived in Islamabad on Monday for the first trip by members of the British royal family to Pakistan in more than a decade.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge landed at the Pakistan Air Force"s Nur Khan Airbase in Rawalpindi, near Islamabad, where they were received by Pakistani foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, British high commissioner to Pakistan Thomas Drew and top government officials.
Prince William’s grandmother, the ruling monarch Queen Elizabeth II, visited Pakistan in 1961 and again in 1997.
