Police in Vietnam have arrested eight people believed to be connected to the 39 corpses found in a refrigerated truck near London on October 23.

Last week, two men were charged with manslaughter over the deaths of those found inside the truck container, now believed to be Vietnamese after authorities originally thought they were Chinese nationals.

“Based on what we learn from the suspects, we will actively launch investigations to fight and eradicate these rings which bring people illegally to Britain,” said police chief Nguyen Huu Cau of the Vietnamese province Nghe An.
