Russia bans buckwheat exports - more than 90% of the product in Georgia comes from Russia

Russia will most likely restrict buckwheat exports. The initiator of the temporary regulation is the Ministry of Agriculture.

The government has already discussed the issue at the customs tariff regulation session. According to the existing information, the ban will be in force until August 31.

It should be mentioned that more than 90% of the product in Georgia comes from Russia. According to the National Statistics Office, in the first 3 months of 2021, Georgia bought a total of USD 701,700 worth of buckwheat, of which USD 701,400 worth of products were imported from Russia.
