The Georgian parliament backed the amended draft 2021 state budget with 85 votes pro.

According to the first Deputy Finance Minister Giorgi Kakauridze, the 7,7% renewed economic growth prediction by the International Monetary Fund allowed boosting budgetary revenues.

Based on the proposed changes, the deficit reduces from 7.6 to 6.9%, while the government debt goes down to 54.6%.

The total budget revenues increase by GEL 1,174.9 million.

Neither Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and Interior Minister Vakhtang Gomelauri, nor the Government should resign. Such a statement made today the Minister of Culture.

“You can force them out of office if you can. I am a Cabinet member. Get me to resign if you can”, - said Tea Tsulukiani.

She also spoke about the case of the late TV Pirveli cameraman, while the issue of anybody’s responsibility would become acute afterwards. The minister claimed no causal link between the July 5 developments and Lekso Lashkarava’s death per the interim forensic expertise.
