Spanish diplomat Javier Colomina has been appointed on the post of the NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia.

He will also hold the position of Deputy Assistant Secretary-General for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.

Colomina replaced James Appathurai, who has held the post since 2010.
