Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko landed in Moscow for talks with Russia’s President Vladimir Putin that Minsk said could determine how much longer Russian military forces remain in the ex-Soviet republic north of Ukraine, writes Reuters.

“Whatever resolution we take tomorrow, that is how will probably be”, - Lukashenko was quoted as saying by the BelTa information company on Thursday.

“It we take a choice, we’ll take away (the force) inside 24 hours. If we determine a month, they will keep for a month. The armed forces will keep so long as wanted”, - Lukashenko was quoted as saying.

He additionally mentioned Moscow and Minsk had agreed Russia would go away ammunition in Belarus and that Minsk might buy army tools from Russia, or just obtain it as a “present”.

The army drills have displayed Moscow’s tightening grip on Minsk.
