Geostat speaks about the increased the external merchandise trade

In January-March 2022 the external merchandise trade (excluding non-declared trade) of Georgia amounted to USD 3 865.0 million, 37.9% higher to the same period of 2021. The exports equaled USD 1 171.8 million (43.3% higher), while the imports stood at USD 2 693.2 million (35.7% higher). The negative trade balance was USD 1 521.4 million in January-March 2022 and its share in external trade turnover constituted 39.4%.

In January-March 2022 the share of the top ten trading partners by exports in the total exports of Georgia amounted to 77.2%. The top partners were China (USD 220.0 million), Azerbaijan (USD 125.4 million) and Russia (USD 109.8 million).

In January-March 2022 the share of the top 10 trading partners by imports in the total imports of Georgia amounted to 65.1%. The top partners were Turkey (USD 463.2 million), Russia (USD 273.5 million) and China (USD 241.9 million).

In January-March 2022 the share of the top ten trading partners in the total external trade turnover of Georgia amounted to 68.4%. The top trading partners were Turkey (USD 562.4 million), China (USD 461.9 million) and Russia (USD 383.3 million).
