The former Minister of Defense, David Kezerashvili, writes on his Facebook page that the part of the weapon seized during the search of his house belongs to him, and Dimitri Chikovani never had any contact with it.
“Regarding the information released by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, I would like to tell the public that the part of the weapon seized during the search of the house owned by me, in which no one has lived since 2012, belongs to me and Dimitri Chikovani has never had any contact with it.
The gun that was stored in my home, I left before my forced departure from Georgia in October 2012, was registered and stored in full compliance with the law. Both the so-called Ministry of Internal Affairs and the court had full information about the existence of this weapon for years, which was repeatedly confiscated along with my other property. The persecution of me and my family members on political grounds has been going on for more than 12 years”, - writes Kezerashvili.
