I have not received any notification regarding the sanction. I personally have no desire to travel to the US and go anywhere at this stage. Such a statement made today the Mayor of Tbilisi while commenting on the issue of visa restrictions for 20 citizens of Georgia by the US State Department.

“I don’t know, this type of sanctions have been announced for months. The fact is that the current administration is doing everything to worsen relations and bring them to a dead end. We very much hope that the future administration will do everything to reset relations and make them healthy. Such statements, which are based on lies, certainly cause great damage to Georgian-US relations.

The same is happening from the side of the European parliamentarians. People see reality, what is happening in the country, what processes are going on. When even a white person from Europe is told that he is black, this should be taken as a given, which damages and greatly discredits the EU, Europe and the specific high-ranking officials who make such statements.

We are ready for friendship and partnership, and we have repeatedly proven not only with words, but also with concrete steps that Georgia is a reliable partner. We also know friendship, but all this should be mutual.

As for the financial sanctions, I will repeat once again that the current administration, which has only one month left, is trying to damage relations. The most serious thing is that their statements are saturated with lies, trying to put ashes in their eyes. We categorically oppose this servile attitude. Georgian people do not deserve all this”, - said Kakha Kaladze.
