Our forecast for tourism sector growth in 2024 was confirmed, with record revenues recorded - Levan Davitashvili

The Minister of Economy emphasised the Government’s forecast for growth of the domestic tourism sector in 2024 had been achieved with international tourism revenues soaring to a "record" USD 4.425 billion, reflecting a 7.3% increase from the previous year.

“Additionally, the fourth quarter of the year, despite various challenges, proved to be quite productive. We generated USD 963.7 million in revenues from the sector, reflecting a 10.3% increase for the quarter.

The revenues from visitors from Israel had increased significantly by about 41%, totaling USD 128 million. The numbers also saw increases of 18% from Azerbaijan and growth from countries such as Iran and the EU by USD 21 million.

We have 9.4% decline in visitors from Russia, totalling USD 88 million, and 18.9% from Ukraine, amounting to USD 148 million. Additionally, there was a modest 3% decline in tourism revenues from Turkey.

2024 had seen a record number of tourist visits to Georgia, reaching 5.1 million”, - said Levan Davitashvili.
