
The Prime Minister of Georgia met the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Irakli Kobakhidze, along with members of the Cabinet of Ministers, was hosted by Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at the Presidential Palace.
The parties focused on the political and economic ties between the two countries, as well as their successful cooperation in various fields.
They highlighted the positive trend in trade turnover growth and the potential for further strengthening cooperation in investment and tourism. The Prime Minister emphasized Georgiaэs role as a transit hub and the importance of joint efforts to enhance connectivity and develop the Middle Corridor.
During the conversation, the parties focused on regional challenges. The Prime Minister of Georgia thanked the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan for his firm support of Georgiaэs sovereignty and territorial integrity.
“This is one of my first visits after the parliamentary elections, which underscores our special interest in strengthening cooperation, partnership and friendship between our countries and nations. This friendship is based on very strong historical and traditional roots. Therefore, strengthening this partnership is one of the priorities of Georgiaэs foreign policy. Political cooperation between our countries is very important for us. I would like to personally thank you and Kazakhstan for supporting our sovereignty and territorial integrity. Further deepening our political cooperation through various formats is equally very important. We would be very pleased to welcome you to our country”, - said the Prime Minister of Georgia.
The President of Kazakhstan congratulated Irakli Kobakhidze on his reappointment and emphasized his strong leadership.
“Congratulations on your reappointment as the Prime Minister. Georgia is a very important partner for Kazakhstan, and your well-deserved appointment reflects your strong leadership in your country. I wish you success. I also take this opportunity to highly appreciate the significant progress Georgia has made in recent years. We closely follow Georgia’s economic development. As far as I know, last year’s economic growth reached 9.4%, which is a very impressive achievement. Georgia is a friendly country to Kazakhstan. We have the opportunity to assess this economic growth, which will undoubtedly benefit our bilateral cooperation. Your visit to Kazakhstan is very important. I am confident that it will contribute to our further cooperation and relations in many key strategic areas”, - added Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
The meeting was attended by Georgia’s First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili, Minister of Foreign Affairs Maka Bochorishvili, Head of Government Administration Levan Zhorzholiani.
