
The President of Georgia, Mikheil Kavelashvili, has appointed Natia Turnava, nominated by the Board of the National Bank of Georgia [NBG], to the position of NBG President.
Natia Turnava has served as First Vice-President and NBG Acting President since June 2023. She has been a NBG board member since June 2022. She is first woman in the history of the NBG to assume the position of President.
Over the years, Natia Turnava has held high-level positions in both the public and private sectors. She was Georgia’s Minister of Economy. She also served as Deputy Executive Director of the State Partnership Fund, as well as General Director and Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Georgian International Energy Corporation LLC.
