In an interview with the Swiss weekly magazine Die Weltwoche, the Prime Minister of Georgia said that the country has to enter the European Union “with our independence”.

“When we were participating in the last parliamentary elections, that was exactly our key slogan. Only with peace, dignity, and prosperity to Europe. So that was our slogan. And we think that it’s compatible with each other.

It’s possible to keep your independence, to keep peace in the country, to keep the dignity, to promote your prosperity, and to become a member of the EU, and to keep your membership in the EU. So we are optimistic about that. And we are also hopeful that the trends in the EU will be more positive in the future”, - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
