
The Agrarian Issues Committee, in line with Article 47 of the Rules of Procedure, deliberated on the set-up of the Advisory Council. MPs unanimously approved the ten-member composition of the Council, comprising representatives from the scientific community and relevant field specialists.
As Gela Samkharauli, the Chair of the Committee underlined, the Council shall be assigned to, by applying knowledge, experience and intellectual potential, render advisory assistance to the Committee for the solution of the challenges in the agrarian sector, inculcation of hi-tech equipment, food safety etc.
"During the deliberations on the Draft Laws, we consistently place a strong emphasis on the engagement of field specialists in this process. We share their experiences and perspectives on various aspects of agriculture to facilitate informed decision-making that will ultimately benefit the sector and the population", - he stated.
The Committee endorsed the Articles of the Advisory Council.
