By the decree of Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia, and upon the recommendation of Lasha Khutsishvili, Minister of Finance of Georgia Irakli Beraia has been appointed as the Head of the Investigative Service of the Ministry of Finance.

Prior to this appointment, he served as Deputy Minister of Justice.

Irakli Beraia was born on July 23, 1976. In 1998, he graduated with honors from the Department of Economics at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University.

From 2016 to 2025, he was a member of the 9th, 10th and 11th convocations of the Parliament of Georgia.

Before entering politics, he had a successful career in the banking sector.
