Chairman of the Parliament’s Committee on European Integration claimed a reestablishment of the deep state in Europe, from where he believes there will be renewed efforts to exert influence, not only on Georgia.

According to Levan Makhashvili, Georgian Dream is ready to reboot relations with the new US administration and was currently awaiting specific steps from the United States.

“We are closely watching the shifts and rebranding of informal influences, what the US President refers to as the deep state. What we observe so far is that a new base is being established in Europe, and from here, they are attempting to launch an attack, not only on Georgia… It will be clear through actions how much the new administration has managed to defeat informal influences, and it will be clear through actions how much this will have a corresponding impact on the relationship between Georgia and the US”, - said the MP.
