
The Trust Group heard Giorgi Butkhuzi, the Deputy Interior Minister reporting on the activities for 2024.
The Deputy Minister provided a review of the capacity building of the Ministry, infrastructural projects, the modernization of the material-technical base and the secret procurements.
"At the sitting, we deliberated on the report of the Interior Ministry providing the information about the processes and reforms within the institution, as well as the operative-technical capacity and the social projects for the employees. The Deputy Minister accentuated the secret procurements during the reporting period. It is noteworthy that the Ministry and its subordinate institutions, including the Emergency Response Centre, Patrol and Criminal Police Departments, Border Police, and the Special Tasks Department, are undergoing continuous upgrading procedures. The Ministry periodically updates its technical infrastructure, including vehicles, specialized machinery, and drones, ensuring that it is equipped with the latest technologies commensurate with contemporary standards. In contrast, the Ministry, with its organizational structure and material-technical capabilities, fully adheres to the prevailing European standards", - Alexander Tabatadze, Head of the Trust Group and the Chair of the Defense and Security Committee underlined.
The sitting was attended by the Group members - the Chair of the Legal Issues Committee, Archil Gorduladze; the First Deputy Chair of the Defense and Security Committee, Tengiz Sharmanashvili; and the member of the Political Group "People`s Power", Victor Japaridze.
In line with the Rules of Procedure, the respective agencies report to the Trust Group once per annum concerning the secret activities and special programs for the preceding year, and the LEPL Operative-Technical Agency shall submit the statistical and generated report.
