Tbilisi City Court has set GEL 20,000 bail for Zurab Girchi Japaridze, one of the leader of the Coalition for Change, for failing to appear before a temporary parliamentary Interim Fact-Finding Commission.

Judge Nana Shamatava issued the ruling, giving Japaridze 1 month to pay the amount.

As Zurab Girchi Japaridze said during the hearing, he intends to attend future proceedings but does not plan to pay the bail, regardless of the amount set.

Prosecutor`s Office has charged Japaridze under Article 349 of the Criminal Code for failing to appear before the commission, which refers to "failure to comply with the request of the temporary investigative commission of the Parliament".
