Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia handed over a new house to the parents of 5 children who tragically died in a house fire in the village of Saberio, occupied Gali district.

Levan Mgaloblishvili met with the Tcholaria family, offering condolences and reaffirming the government’s support: “What happened is a tragedy not only for this family but for the whole country. Those dark days reminded us of the deep bond we share with our Abkhaz brothers and sisters. Today’s act is a continuation of that unity”.

The new home in the village of Koki, Zugdidi municipality, was purchased through the joint efforts of the Government of Abkhazia, central and local authorities, with support from private companies. The family also received essential household appliances.

The tragic fire, which claimed the lives of five children, occurred on January 5.
