
As part of the 2025 Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund [IMF] and the World Bank held in Washington, Governor of the National Bank of Georgia [NBG] Natia Turnava and Minister of Finance Lasha Khutsishvili met with IMF Deputy Managing Director Bo Li.
During the meeting, the Georgian delegation highlighted recent achievements in the country’s economic development. They briefed the IMF Deputy Managing Director on the measures undertaken to ensure fiscal sustainability and maintain price stability.
Discussions also addressed current global and regional economic challenges. Both parties exchanged views on key areas of cooperation between Georgia and the IMF. Bo Li reaffirmed the IMF’s ongoing commitment to supporting Georgia, including the provision of technical assistance. He also expressed the IMF’s readiness to assist the NBG in advancing a range of reforms.
The meeting was attended by Vice Governors of the NBG Ekaterine Mikabadze and Ekaterine Galdava, Deputy Ministers of Finance Giorgi Kakauridze and Ekaterine Guntsadze, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Vakhtang Tsintsadze.
