If someone thinks that by not entering Parliament they will pose a threat to the Georgian state, this is complete absurdity and nonsense - Matikashvili

If someone thinks that by not entering Parliament they will pose a threat to the Georgian state, this is complete absurdity and nonsense. Such a statement made today David Matikashvili, Chairman of the Procedural Issues Committee of the Georgian Parliament.

"Opposition has ensnared itself in its own web of lies and now struggles to escape the disinformation labyrinth it has constructed with the aid of media under external control. They have repeatedly attempted to orchestrate conspiracies against the state.

Following the Parliamentary elections, the radical opposition planned to incite unrest by refusing to enter Parliament and by attempting to blackmail the Georgian people - actions designed to serve foreign actors and those who dictated their orders.

In the end, all their efforts have proved futile. Anyone who believes that refusing to take their seats could threaten the Georgian state is completely misguided. The Parliament of Georgia, composed of elected representatives, continues to operate fully within the framework of the Constitution.

If these agents are offended by the fact that they have caused no real harm to the country, then we have no reason to apologize to them", - said David Matikashvili.
