
To mark the 80th anniversary of victory over Fascism, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze laid a wreath at the Bust of Meliton Kantaria in Veterans Park of Culture and Recreation and honoured the memory of those fallen in World War II.
On his visit to Veterans Park of Culture and Recreation, the Head of Government was accompanied by President Mikheil Kavelashvili, Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili, Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze, and members of executive and legislative authorities.
Irakli Kobakhidze wished a happy 80th anniversary of victory over Fascism to the WWII veterans present in the park.
"We honour the memory of those fallen in WWII. Fascism is profoundly evil, and defeating Fascism is a very important event. Once again, I wish a happy anniversary to every veteran", - said Irakli Kobakhidze.
By order of the Georgian Government, to mark the 80th anniversary of victory over Fascism, WWII veterans will receive 2,000 GEL in one-off monetary social assistance, while the family members of those fallen in WWII will receive 1,000 GEL.
