On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Victory over Fascism, the Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia visited a World War II veteran living in the Imereti region and temporarily displaced from Abkhazia. Levan Mgaloblishvili congratulated 99-year-old Oresti Berulava on May 9, thanked him for his heroic dedication, and presented him with gifts.

"Today marked a particularly meaningful occasion, as I had the honor of visiting a 99-year-old internally displaced veteran who through his life and sacrifice, helped write the story of victory over fascism.

This meeting reminded me once again how important it is to cherish our heroes and to pass their stories on to future generations. These are examples of heroism that gave us the chance to live in a free world today.

Such individuals are the cornerstone of our values. Thanks to their dedication, our country has come this far, and honoring them is a duty we all share", - said Levan Mgaloblishvili.
