Education in the 21st century is unimaginable without media literacy. UNICEF, in partnership with the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth and the Communications Commission, continues to support its integration into formal education.

To this end, a conference titled "Integrating Media Literacy into Formal Education – The Role of Teachers and Practical Approaches" was held in Tbilisi with the participation of teachers from the capital and various regions of Georgia. The event brought together teachers, school principals, and students to discuss teaching experiences, achieved results, challenges, and future steps for strengthening media literacy teaching. Participants explored alternative approaches to teaching media literacy, support strategies, and supplementary activities such as school clubs.

A second conference will be held this June in Kutaisi.
