
Established to foster the construction of a new stadium in Tbilisi, the commission discussed the territory selected for the construction of a 70,000-seat stadium.
In today`s meeting chaired by the Prime Minster, a decision was made on the territory designated for the implementation of this megaproject, and information about it will be provided to the public in the nearest future.
The new stadium will be able to host football and rugby tournaments of the highest level, also attracting additional investments into these sports.
In addition, besides hosting sports events, top-notch concert infrastructure and a convention center will be built on the stadium`s premises to bolster the country`s tourism attractiveness.
According to Irakli Kobakhidze, stadium`s multifunctional character will ensure that the space remains maximally busy all year round. The concept of the new multifunctional stadium is being developed in cooperation with UEFA experts.
