
Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili met with Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó in Luxembourg, within the framework of the Council of Europe Ministerial.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the parties discussed current issues of bilateral strategic relations and fruitful cooperation in various fields.
Special attention was paid to the cooperation between the two countries in the fields of trade and economy, energy and Black Sea connectivity. The parties emphasized the importance of the Georgia-Hungary Intergovernmental Summit, which will be held in Budapest on June 11-12.
The meeting once again confirmed Hungary`s strong support for Georgia`s integration into the European Union. In order to facilitate this process, readiness was expressed to further deepen cooperation with Hungary at both the political and expert levels.
The conversation touched upon the challenges in the region and the situation in the occupied territories of Georgia. At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to strengthen coordinated cooperation and partnership.
