Georgia`s unemployment rate drops to 13.9% in 2024 - GeoStat

In 2024 the unemployment rate in Georgia decreased by 2.5% compared to 2023 and amounted to 13.9%, the National Statistics Office of Georgia, reported.

In 2024 labour force participation rate (share of the labour force in the total population aged 15 and older) increased by 1.5% compared to the previous year and became 54.8 percent, while the employment rate increased by 2.6% and amounted to 47.1%.

The Labour force participation rate in urban settlements increased by 1.6%, while in rural settlements – by 1.4 percentage points compared to the previous year. The employment rate in urban settlements as well as in rural areas increased by 3.1 and 1.9 percentage points and equaled 48.5 and 45.3 percent, respectively.

In 2024, the share of hired employees was 68.5% among employed persons, which is 0.5% lower than the previous year.
